Hayloft on the Arch Wedding: Nicole and Sam

Barn weddings can be a challenge… whether you need to bring in all of your own rentals, there is no power source, or it’s so “rustic” that the cows just vacated the barn yesterday (there is only so much fresh flowers can cover up). Hayloft on the Arch in Vernon Center, NY is in it’s very own category for a “barn” wedding. The owner and event manager, Alisha knew what she was doing when she and her husband renovated the barn to accommodate weddings. There is a bridal suite, built in bar, catering space, really awesome bathrooms (when do you ever rave about the restrooms?), and overall just beautifully decorated. If you are looking for a barn space for your wedding – you need to check this place out.  It is officically a favorite #kowevenuepick!

Nicole and Sam came into our office for their initial consult and we just clicked. Nicole is a teacher and Sam is a designer who moonlights in a band (just the beginning of their awesomeness). Their planning process was so fun – tastings with Patrick at A Moveable Feast, floral appointments with Coriale, and site visits with Alisha out in the middle of NY. They were always full of laughs and bags of chicken (sorry inside joke). So of course their wedding day was just as fun!

Katie O’ says:  I feel truly blessed and lucky to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing couples each season.  Nicole & Sam were no exception.  They were both so awesome when we met for our initial consultation and totally in love.  They are the perfect balance for one another and I knew from the start that they were a #kowecouple.  Thank you both for sharing the planning and coordination of your special day with me.  I am honored to now call you both friends and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you (in Beantown-“Go Red Sox!”) as Mr. & Mrs! xoxo

Nicole and Sam say: “There are just not enough words to express the love that we have for Katie and her team! They are simply the best! Not only are they some of the most SPARKLY people you will ever meet, they genuinely love what they do and it showed throughout the almost 2 years that we worked with them. Katie and Casey truly took the time to know us as a couple. I truly believe that the time invested by Katie and Casey to get to know us is the reason why our wedding was such a success. From the vendor selection to events of the day-we were overjoyed with our “team” and how they all worked together to make our wedding day so special. We said it from the first week of working with Katie and Casey and we’re still saying it a month after the wedding-having Katie O Wedding and Events as part of our day was the best decision we made throughout our wedding planning. We just love them!”

There are always  “getting ready” pictures of the bride but we love this “getting ready” picture of the groom! How cool is our groom?

Sam’s best man was his dad (awww!)

When the venue is so cool that your dress looks good hanging anywhere!

Nicole had hair and makeup done at the hotel but got dressed at Hayloft – how stunning is this shot of Nicole?  We LOVED the back of her dress from Angela’s Bridal.

@Coriale – this bouquet is stunning. A mix of greens, succulents and pops of white.

First look time!

How sweet are these two love birds?

The “pre-ceremony” set up before mother nature decided to down pour. BIG shout out to my amazing husband and the catering team for moving this arch inside for their Plan B ceremony set up with moments to spare. hayloft-on-the-arch-wedding-18

Adirondack Wedding at Wintergreen Lake: Blerta & Zach

When you need to use GPS coordinates to find the ceremony location, the weather forecast is 100% unpredictable, and there is no cellphone service anywhere it is very helpful to have a coordinator! When we first began planning with Blerta and Zach back in December 2015, we knew that this wedding was going to have some challenges but of course, with challenge comes opportunity. Opportunity to become better planners, coordinators, and build stronger relationships with our couples. This is exactly what happened on September 10th, 2016.

Blerta and Zach were married at their families camp in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains on Wintergreen Lake. The morning started off with some rain- but mother nature was just getting it out of the way so the rest of the day could be sunny and perfect for the ceremony & celebration! The couple exchanged vows in front of the lake surrounded by all of their friends and family. Cocktail hour was also held lakeside as guests watched the happy couple hop in a row boat for photos on the lake.  Guests then moved under a breathtaking sail cloth tent for an incredible family style dinner (We are still raving about how delicious dinner was from the talented Mazzone Hospitality). Dancing, fireworks, and a sweet doughnut exit made this wedding unforgettable. Thank you B&Z for keeping us laughing the entire way – xo #teamKOWE

Katie O’ says: When Blerta & Zach reached out to us I was excited for the opportunity to help them plan and coordinate a very special celebration at such a magical and meaningful location for their family.  It is always a challenge to “build a venue” from the ground up on a piece of land that is not typically used for weddings.  The team we assembled including Mazzone Hospitality and Rain or Shine Rental Company truly helped to make this a seamless and fun process.  Having a planner to help make a tented wedding go flawlessly is so important and we loved being able to bring the sparkle to Wintergreen Lake for Blerta & Zach.

#KOWEbride, Blerta says: I can’t imagine how my wedding would have turned out without KOWE. They were indispensable every step of the way. They made things as seamless as possible and really listened to what I wanted — they’re pros at what they do. Bottom line: I felt extremely taken care of and think they were worth every penny. I also want to note that Katie and her team did so much more than the traditional wedding planning and coordinating tasks of managing the schedule/vendors/making sure everything runs smoothly (and they performed those tasks to a T). As soon as Katie stepped foot in the room on my wedding day, it felt like everything was going to turn out exactly right. She’s the type of person who can make you feel like everything will be great, even when it’s pouring the morning of your outdoor wedding. She calmed me down when I felt frazzled and made sure my train and veil and every little thing was perfect, among the thousands of other wedding coordinating things she did that day that I am not even aware of. Most importantly, I felt like she was my friend, and she was a joy to have around.

Andrew Franciosa was a dream to work with…. check out his full blog here.

Blerta & Zach got ready and had their first look at the family’s home.  We love having the couple do getting ready preparations at home, it is so intimate and personal.

Our handsome groom and beautiful bride, re- reading theirs vows before go time!

Before ceremony, our couple had an adorably candid first look.

That dress… You make a stunning couple.

Blerta shared an “inspiration” image with Fluertacious Designs of how she would like her bouquet. Then the Fleurts made it 10x better than anyone could have imagined.  It was one of the items Blerta made certain was saved and placed safely at the end of the night- she loved it so much!!

Can this get ANYMORE beautiful?

After ceremony, the newlyweds had some alone time on the family’s row boat. This picture perfect sunset made this image instantly frame-able!

Rain or Shine Tent Company was AMAZING to work with. Every detail was accounted for.

How fun are these “cake toppers?” It’s all in the details…and clearly B & Z have a fun sense of humor!

Gedney Farm Wedding: Lauren & Matt

Every KOWE couple is different- their love story, where they live, their hobbies, but there is always one thing that makes them a #KOWEcouple… you guessed it – sparkle. Lauren and Matt were nothing but sparkle during the planning process, the wedding weekend and even after the wedding. You can tell that sharing their love with their friends and family was the main reason for this celebration. Lauren even called the group of vendors she curated their “love team”. When you spoke with Lauren and Matt (who planned their Berkshire wedding from LA!) their positive energy and warmth came through the phone and had you smiling the rest of the day!
Thank you Lauren and Matt for sharing your love story with us. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you!

Katie O says…
When Lauren originally reached out I was already booked with another #kowecouple on her date.  At first she was concerned that I would not be on-site for the wedding day, but as soon as she met Casey via conference call, she knew she would be in the very best of hands.  I am beyond proud of the hard work, dedication and care Casey provided Lauren & Matt and feel forever grateful for such an amazing team member.  Big HUGS to Lauren & Matt, and kudos to Silver & Salt for capturing images that allowed me to feel like I was there.

Senior Coordinator, Casey says…
Working with Lauren and Matt was a dream. The only thing that mattered to them was each other and that their friends and family were taken care of. They are genuine, loving, caring people with and abundance amount of hugs and love to give away. This was a very unique wedding for me, for the first time the bride and groom hung out with each other during their morning activities – it created a relaxed atmosphere and they were able to spend their whole wedding day together. Their ceremony was inspiring, the fireworks jaw dropping, and his surprise performance of a song he wrote just for her was straight out of your favorite Rom-Com movie. Let’s do it again L&M!

#kowecouple Lauren & Matt say:
I learned when hiring a wedding planner that you want someone you actually LIKE to be with you throughout your most precious time! I knew immediately that the KOWE girls were a perfect fit. They were energetic, excited about our wedding, so very kind, attentive, incredibly reliable, timely and the most professional. I felt so taken care of and knew from our initial conversations that they were my girls. They went so above and beyond to make us happy at EVERY turn. Endlessly grateful. EVERY part of having the KOWE team was critical at EVERY turn. I knew I could rely on them to ensure we were prepared before the wedding and I knew day of that I could completely relax and know that my family could completely relax and let the girls run the show.

Here are just some (so hard to choose – we loved them all) of moments captured by Ben with Silver and Salt Photography and Connie with Studio Atticus Photography.  If you are looking for photographers who capture perfectly timed candid moments, a vendor who is WONDERFUL to work with during planning, on wedding day, and afterwards, and the type of photography where you don’t even know the photographer is there… look no further.

As you can see- Matt was very surprised!
