They say the waiting is the hardest part…well, Tom Petty definitely said this, and I have to agree.  Anyone that knows me knows that I hate waiting. I hate when people are late and I really hate waiting when I am not in control. Don’t even get me started on late wedding guests…

Nothing (aside from a nearly two weeks overdue baby) makes me more anxious than having everything timed perfectly–bridal party lined up, groom and Officiant on deck and ready, musicians about to be cued 3 minutes before the time listed on the invitation and then we WAIT. Not all the guests have arrived and we WAIT.

A week or so ago (it seems like months ago now) we were waiting for one of the best and most beautiful blessings life can bring you–a baby. It kind of felt like waiting to walk down the aisle to meet your soulmate at the end and start your new life as a married couple. You want to run down that aisle into their arms and get your happily ever after started!

From the start of my pregnancy many folks heard me say, “You can’t plan the best things in life” which might sound funny coming from a planner. I mean, planning is my livelihood–I make a bespoke plan for an event and execute it.

But, you know what? Life is messy and unpredictable. You can have the very best plan and things can still go wrong. But how you handle the unexpected is what makes life and the experience of living that much sweeter. KOWE is best under pressure…we roll with whatever punches or issues might arise on a wedding day and usually it is the unplanned ones that make the day more amazing. Torrential rain? Cancelled venue last minute? We’ve handled it all.

I find it kind of ironic, honestly. We signed on to redesign our website on December 10, 2015 and we found out I was pregnant a month before. For the past 9 months we have been growing a baby, redesigning the website, and updating our overall business strategy. I didn’t know exactly when the site would be complete and knew approximately when the baby was due–but they’re here and ready to be revealed!

image1-7In my mind, I never thought our baby would be nearly two weeks overdue (she’s got a mind of her own already!). At the exact time our brand new website is 99% complete (all that is missing is this blog post to kick off the launch) she decided to be late and make us WAIT. But that’s life, right?

As a small business owner, my personal and professional life will always intersect and I wouldn’t want it any other way. This next phase of life will include more weddings, parties, first words, sleepless nights, lots of diaper changes, cuddles, hugs from happy clients, meaningful relationships, highs, lows, successes, and failures.

We are ready to let life happen and figure it out one day at a time. We are in the business of love, celebration, family, and sharing joyful occasions with others. As such, I am thrilled to share with you our brand new website and introduce you to our newest member of #teamKOWE.—Mary-Jo Grace Maloney born July 21, 2016 at 1:36PM–8lbs, 15oz, 22″ long–all sparkle.

Nate and I want to thank everyone for all of the well wishes on Facebook and Instagram–Grace is already so loved!
