As the year winds down and we inch closer to 2015, I thought it would be fun to have 12 days of Sparkle and share with you some of my most favorite places to shop, eat, relax, and unwind in and around the Capital Region.
Welcome to Day 2 of my 12 Days of Sparkle! Today I wanted to share one of my favorite spots to dine…New World Bistro Bar in Albany's DelSo neighborhood! Over the past few years the dining scene in the Capital Region has started to really evolve. New World Bistro Bar is definitely part of that evolution.
With renowned chef Ric Orlando at the helm in the kitchen, New World weaves a tapestry of flavors from far and near. New World is known for their “Ricter” scale of hotness (1-10) for their dishes–the most notorious on that list has to be the Jerk Chicken…it's a favorite of many of the men in my life!
For appetizers, the blackened green beans are always a crowd pleaser, and my seafood loving husband especially likes their calamari–it's more of a Thai interpretation than the traditional Italian, but he tells me it's sooo good.
What I also love about New World is their seasonal menu and daily specials…they have incredible specials and the menu is very focused on supporting local and regional farmers.
Of course, no visit to New World would be complete without dessert…the ice cream sandwich of the day is usually amazing. The best, really.
The atmosphere is relaxed, but bustling…there's always an energy and it's usually busy, so reservations are recommended! Also to note, they offer a full range of catering services from pick-up, drop off or full service for weddings and special events. We look forward to working with this creative and innovative team much more in the future. For more menu information, be sure to check out their website!
