Behind the Scenes: Kelly and Craig's Wedding, Part 2!

At the end of Part 1 of this post Kelly and Craig were heading over to the Hall of Springs for their ceremony (if you haven't read Part 1, do it before reading any further)…to say this was one of the most dramatic and incredible backdrops for a wedding is an understatement! Kelly had such an amazing vision for her day and it was implemented flawlessly.

This is what guests saw when they entered the ceremony…I LOVE the custom logo that The Pink Orange created especially for Kelly and Craig!

And I love this shot of this flower girl holding the ceremony program, too.

The details for this wedding were off the hook! Seriously, impeccable. And more escort card lovliness from The Pink Orange & Renaissance Floral Design!

Kelly and Craig wanted their cocktail hour to be under the stars…but it was a little chilly in November, so we improvised. Clifton Park Rentals had the perfect tent for the evening!Zg Iycqc71pttyk1iays8yosrqxakgrouawbjy7ewli

Meanwhile, the inside of the Hall of Springs was looking amazing! Mazzone Hospitality does it again!

One of the most clever moments of the day was right before Kelly & Craig were introduced as “Mr & Mrs” their fun bridal attendants “called the bride and groom (or pitcher) to the bullpen- or in this case the dance floor!”

I always try to get a photo with my clients on their wedding day–it's a nice memory for me after I've spent so much time getting to know and care for my clients.  Kelly and Craig are amazing people and truly believe in the power of doing good and giving back.  Stay tuned exciting news about an upcoming event for  Strike 3 Foundation that we will be assisting with!

Kelly and Craig requested a special, sparkly send off…and they came to the right place!  At first Kelly showed me an image of the exit that she wanted and she was pretty particular as to how she wanted it executed.  The amazing Jeff Alonzo of Alonzo fireworks helped me to create the perfect vision, timing and we truly had this planned down to the MINUTE. The KOWE team practiced coordinating this (for real) a few times before the actual wedding day and I'm glad we did! Here is the result!

All the guests made their way out the front of the Hall of Springs, the KOWE team was ther with sparklers and lighters to get everyone ready.  As soon as we were all lit, we brought Kelly and Craig out….

They made their way through the sparkly canopy and end of the line of guests when all of a sudden the firework cannons started shooting up from the darkness and their vintage car made it's way to whisk them away!

The back of their car was adorned with this awesome custom sign!

I love this image of my superstar team from the end of the night!  You ladies are the BEST!

Amazing, right?! I'm still thrilled when I think about Kelly and Craig's wedding! And, because they are so amazing, Kelly and Craig sent this to me as a thank you gift–I love it! Photo 25

From the Kelly & Craig:  “Thank you to the Katie O' Wedding and Events team for their professionalism and for allowing Craig and I to relax and enjoy every minute of our wedding day without a single worry.”

Hope you guys enjoyed this two part series! There was NO WAY I could have fit all this in one blog post–too much sparkle; too much awesome!

Thank you again to our incredible team of vendors, including: Servidone Studios, Make Me Fabulous, The Pink Orange, Cocoadotts, Clifton Park Rental, NuVue Cinema, Groove Authority, Alonzo Fireworks, Mazzone Hospitality, and Renaissance Floral Design.

Behind the Scenes for Kelly & Craig's Wedding Part 1!

Kelly and Craig's wedding was one of the most rewarding events we've coordinated here at Katie O' Weddings and Events. Frequently, our clients are busy or from out of the area and need help planning and coordinating. Kelly and Craig were no different; but, in their case, the stakes were even higher! You see, Craig is a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox! So while the last few weeks before any wedding are really intense, (oh, how true this is for me right now!), their November wedding was even busier..because, you know, Craig was pitching in the WORLD SERIES. No big deal, right?! Hah!

Regardless of how the series turned out, we knew we were going to knock Kelly and Craig's wedding out of the park (sorry, that's the last gratuitous baseball reference…)! We had a great crew of vendors–Servidone Studios for photography, Make Me Fabulous on hair and makeup, and the Batcheller Mansion Inn to get ready–and, of course, the KOWE team was on the scene–and we were a real team that day–I had lots of extra hands on deck for the entire day. Like always, I could not have pulled it off without them!

When Kelly first contacted me it was one of those phone calls I will never forget.  We hit it off almost instantly and I could tell by her organization and overall confidence that we would work extremely well together.  The best part of the call was when she (very casually) mentioned that she was marrying a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. Now, clearly here in New York (Yankee / Mets country) this would not impress most, but I was born in Boston and raised on the Red Sox, so I tried to keep my cool when she dropped this bit of information on me. And by “cool” I mean I audibly gasped and said, “Oh wow–OK!”

Kelly is a very talented, smart, and savvy business woman. She had a good idea of what she wanted for the wedding and asked the KOWE team pull it all together so she and Craig could truly enjoy the day with their beautiful families. We had a lot of fun with assisting on some unique details and we are excited to share some of these with you. On to the details!

For the rehearsal dinner Kelly wanted to surprise Craig with a custom cake in the shape of the World Series trophy. However, keep in mind, this masterpiece could not be confirmed until the Red Sox actually won the series! Not that doubted my Sox, but as a contingency plan, I had the team at Coccadotts on deck with two cake designs. The World Series cake or an alternative if they didn't win big. One of the cutest and sweetest parts of this cake are the rookie and pre-Red Sox cards that Kelly secretly went online and bought to add to the base of the cake. So my first call after they won the series was to Coccadotts to confirm we could go ahead with the trophy cake! Yay!

Given that their wedding was in Saratoga they arranged to have a race named for them at the Saratoga raceway for their welcome party with out of town guests! Super cute.

While Kelly was getting ready, a little lady was helping her break in her shoes…and she won “best flower girl” of the year from KOWE!

I love that Craig wore these amazing cufflinks.  Very appropriate, I'd say! Plus I love that they sparkle, of course! X9c7jespnsfeuhkcta18m3yqdurked Ugwz6 70Nbxg

Getting ready for their first look…the KOWE crew was on point, I tell you!  Now, this was also one of those clients who definitely was not sold on the idea of a first look. Overall, it took some mapping out of the timeline and determining the best use of time so that Kelly and Craig could have amazing photos and still be able to join all of their guests at cocktail hour. Whiie it wasn't an easy decision, in the end, the result is amazing, as you can see below. Kelly and Craig are very glad they chose to see each other before the ceremony.

Katie O' Getting Married: Bachelorette Weekend!

To say I am a girl who is organized is somewhat of an understatement–I plan, schedule, make lists, and organize some more. I like itineraries; I like dates and times; staying the course…I guess it is good I'm a wedding / event planner and coordinator! But when it came to my bachelorette party, I was totally in the dark. I knew nothing except the day and time. Let me tell you, it was so much fun being surprised. I had an amazing time and was so overwhelmed by the care and attention that went into my weekend. Thank you again to the BEST lifemaids, friends, and family a girl could ask for. Now onto to the bachelorette…

When the Saturday of my bachelorette weekend arrived, I was picked up and promptly handed an itinerary that looked strangely familiar…because it was on Katie O' Weddings and Events letterhead! Too cute (and, yes, Megan spelled “February” wrong)!

Photo 20

Upon studying the itinerary, I learned that we were en route to New York City! Yay! I was super excited.

When we got into the city we headed to one of my new favorite spots…Drybar! Drybar is a salon that focuses soley on blowouts and styling…no haircuts or color! And you get to drink champagne too- it was fabulous.  I seldom take the time (and I mean time–it takes a while) to blow out my curly hair, so this was the perfect pampering for me. This was the before shot…

Photo 14

Next up we headed to a fun little place called The Mason Jar for lunch or just fried pickles.  These are one of my most favorite snacks and of course my lifemaids found a cute little pub that had great drinks and yummy fried pickles.  One of the highlights of the trip was this little jar I was handed as my “clue” to our next spot.

Photo 15

Inside this “mason jar” (I know, I know- they are so clever!) were some of my girlfriends favorite “LOL” or “Laugh Out Loud” memories they have shared with me.  What was so special about this, was that even some of my freinds who couldn't make the trip were able to be there in spirit as they shared stories with my lifemaids to include in the jar.  We spent lunch laughing and tellng funny stories and it was amazing.

Then we went some place that I was NOT anticpating…the Museum of Sex! The MOS has been open since 2002 and they do not claim to be the first museum of its kind! It was actually a really interesting place and they have a permanent collection of over 15,000 artifacts!

Photo 24

After the cultural component of the weekend was fufilled, we headed back to our hotel rooms. Where I found this amazing spread–OMG–O'Maloney t-shirts! There were also some lovely gifts (that will remain in the bags!) and some delicious cupcakes all the way from Cocoadots–adorable, right?

Photo 23

Photo 19

We donned our t-shirts, popped some bubbly, devoured some cupcakes, and started to play some games and open gifts. It was a blast. Photo 21

Photo 18

After a few hours it was time to get ready for dinner…I wasn't sure where we were headed, but I was going to look sparkly! Here's the whole crew before we had dinner! How awesome do we look?! Yay for mini top hats!

Photo 16

Dinner was at the delicious Mexican restaurant Rosa Mexicano (they made our guacamole tableside and did so with incredible speed)! Note how the menu says, “sparklefest!”

Photo 17

Then we headed out to the bars for some dancing and possible bull riding…and I was looking rather, um, bridal…I couldn't help but share this “quintessentiall” bachelorette photo below. I definitley felt like the bride this weekend!

Photo 22

I had an amazing weekend and so much fun! Thanks again to everyone who helped pull the weekend off without a hitch! Did you / will you have a bachelorette party or no? Let me know in the comments!
