Happy May! Whoa, I mean, it's MAY already? When did that happen?! I know I said on Monday we were back to our blogging schedule, but I sort of lied. Next week; I PROMISE! Today's we're talking about sharing the sparkle…Albany style!
Did you know I am a former Tulip Queen? Yes, it's true; I am the 1998 Tulip Queen! It was one of the most fun times of my life and I love being part of this Albany tradition! This year's tulip luncheon will be held on Friday, May 10th at 12PM at the Hilton in downtown Albany. This year's luncheon benefits the Tulip Fund! The Tulip Fund was set up through the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region by the 2008 Tulip Queen, Sarah Volk and her Court.
This fund is used by Tulip Courts to enhance programs for the Mayor Jennings' Literacy Campaign, to donate to organizations that the Tulips support, and help Tulip Courts leave a lasting impression on the community throughout their years of reign. Tulip Queens and Court members have had a significant impact on the Albany Community and its organizations. The Tulip Fund ensures future Tulips will be able to further enhance this influence throughout the City of Albany.
This year will feature a fashion show of amazing finds from Circles in Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany, as well!
If you would like to attend, please email tulipluncheon@gmail.com or call 518-275-6813!
We hope to see you at the Tulip Luncheon to support this great cause and honor the tradition of tulips in Albany!Above: me and my former “Tulips” from the 2012 Tulip Lucheon.
Keep sparkling–
