New Venue Alert: The BARN at Liberty Farms

Last week we were able to take a little planning break and visit this amazing new barn in Hudson, NY! We met with Blanche who was so knowledgeable, a team player and sparkly (our kind of gal). This venue has everything you need and more right onsite.

Below are some images as well as more information about the very unique characteristics of the Barn!

As you enter the main entrance of the barn, you are surrounded by beautiful wood work (original to the barn). There is a bridal suite, a groom’s suite as well as you guests’ restrooms.

The bridal suite is spacious with a lot of light! Perfect for all your getting ready needs.

The groom’s suite is very cool – we love it when the venue pays attention to the fellas too!

If you decide to get married onsite, it is an easy walk from the barn to the paddock where most their ceremonies happen. The barn provides you with ceremony chairs (always a plus!).

After ceremony, guests mix and mingle outside of the barn on the rolling hills of the farm. If weather is not so great, both your ceremony and cocktails could happen inside. Or you can get a ceremony/cocktail tent and still utilize the beautiful grounds.

Guests then find their seats inside of the main barn,  seating up to 180 comfortably. Tables and chairs are provided by the venue (more savings on rentals!).

The barn includes these AMAZING stalls that can be transformed into lounges, photobooths, kid/babysitting areas and your bar! Creates cozy, unique spaces within your reception space!

There are no accommodations onsite BUT the barn is associated with a Farm House that can sleep 10 guests. The Farm House is only a 5 minute drive and super quaint! Alysa & Danny: M&D Farm

Alysa & Danny

These high school sweethearts met in a photo class when she was a sophomore and he was a junior. Alysa, sweet and kind – Danny, funny and charming they started out as friends that blossomed into something much more. Fast froward 10 years and they are married!

Senior Coordinator Casey says: SO MUCH FUN! Those are the first three words that come to mind when I think of Alysa and Danny’s wedding day. Even getting to know Alysa during the planning process I knew that her top priorities of the wedding were of course to marry the love of her life but to have a good time! Good food, good music and good friends, the perfect priorities.

We spent the day at the magical M&D Farm with Kevin & Ben from Kevin Demassio Photography. This dynamic duo are so much fun to work with and always have a way of making each couple feel so comfortable in front of the camera. You will obviously be able to tell that by the stunning images below:

We started the morning at Alysa’s parents home for hair and makeup with the talented ladies at Alexandria’s Salon.

I’m so obsessed with this image of Alysa with her parents! MOB (or MOM 😉 ). Cheryl was super involved in the planning process so we were able to really get to know the family before wedding day.

Their first look was nothing but happy tears, excitement and LOVE!

Alysa was so consumed by seeing Danny for the first time she forgot we were even there!

You can’t see it in this image but in order to keep Alysa’s dress clean – she sat on SeCo Casey’s cardigan! We make sure you stay flawless!

Same with the gents – love a good blue suit.

Because the weather was a little iffy that day, we hosted the ceremony in the barn. A perfect plan B/rain plan.

Danny and his mom shared one of the BEST Mother-Son dances we have seen!

We wish you both a life full of amazing travels, wild dance parties and endless laughter.

Little White Workshop

 

When creative minds collide with a touch of sparkle…a dream team comes together. Angela’s Bridal and team KOWE wanted to create something that was useful, creative, intimate and helpful for local couples planning their wedding celebration.  So we put our thinking caps on and created something extraordinary. The “Little White Workshop,” is a series of interactive wedding workshops to help educate, inspire and motivate couples to dream big before saying “I do”.

If you have not yet been into Angela’s Bridal you are missing out!  This gem of a bridal salon was historically once a bank, nestled in downtown Albany, on what has become known as “wedding row”. Located near many hotels, wedding venues and the gorgeous Capitol building, Angela’s has become the premiere location for that moment we all dream of, and saying “yes to the dress”.  With each gown and designer hand selected, and a staff that is educated and full of sparkle, it truly is a special experience like no other!

 

We wanted to kick off our Little White Workshop Series with the best tips, tricks and insider knowledge to help make your wedding planning & day run smoothly.  To make this happen, we teamed up with photographer and dear friend JP Elario.  JP has over 25 years of experience and has been involved in the wedding industry for almost 20 years. He has established himself, his photography, and his business as one of the best in the Capital District. His style, personality and approach to photography is organic and fun. With his easy going personality, attention to detail, and an eye for capturing the best moments you will feel at ease having him on your team.

With a room full of eager brides (and grooms), JP and I set out on a mission to educate them on how to get through the “I do” process with a little more fun and less stress. From creating timelines, when to book your photographer, how far in advance to schedule engagement photos, book hair & makeup trials, the do’s and don’ts with social media and how to approach the “first look” option.  We covered a lot of ground and had so much fun sharing with our guests!

 

The first workshop was a BIG success! With time to mingle prior, champagne flowing, boomerang booth booming, music that made us want to dance, beautiful dresses on display to swoon over, lovely sweets & treats, time for Q&A during and after our presentations, plus giveaways and prizes! It was simply a beautiful night from start to finish.

NEW VENUE ALERT: Senate Garage

Last week we stopped in Kingston, NY (approx 1 hour south of Albany) for a site visit to the intriguing, Senate Garage (https://www.senategarage.com). We love visiting new venues, especially ones we have been ogling over on instagram for over a year!

We were welcomed by Judy (owner) and April (event manager) who had so much sparkle for their venue it was hard not to immediately fall in love with the space. The venue was originally a garage where chauffeur-driven cars were parked in the bustling town of Kingston. Fast forward almost 100 years and it is now transformed into the venue of your dreams!

If I had to explain the esthetic of the Senate Garage, I would describe it as “elevated industrial with touches of glam and charm.” Plenty of unique details throughout the space make it one of a kind!

Ceremony Inside and Outside Options:

Senate Garage offers more than 3 outside ceremony set up options. The Senate Garage opens to the Senate House State Park, a 17th century garden.


Outside Cocktail Hour Space:


(YES – those strung bistro lights are provided by the venue!)

The Reception Space:

The space offers flexibility with layout options. Whether you want round, banquet, farm or square tables – the space allows you to mix and play with space however you want!

The venue includes:

  • Capacity up to 275 seated guests (450 cocktail style) *but also can feel intimate if your group is smaller
  • Private bridal suite with restroom
  • Projector for video presentations
  • A/C and heat for year round events
  • Facility manager
