KOWE Couple Real Weddings Archive

Private Estate Wedding: Sharon & Leo

We love when photographers share wedding photos of our couples in the middle of the “slow season” so we are able to relive the wedding day just as much as the couple does! Back in October 2016, we went down to the Hudson Valley and spent the weekend with Sharon and Leo. <3
S&L have a very interesting love story. They met while she was living in NYC and he was visiting from South America. Seven years later they were planning their wedding for Upstate New York from thousands of miles away in Uruguay! We thought it was difficult for couples to plan a wedding from a different state, but imagine planning from a different time zone/continent/hemisphere?! We loved getting to know the Uruguayan traditions, customs and a little Portuguese. Let me just say thank goodness they had a translator onsite for the weekend! It made communication much easier- hand gestures only go so far).

Senior Coordinator, Casey says:  This wedding is special to me in so many ways! They were the first “Full Service” couple that Katie trusted me to plan from start to finish (with her guidance step by step, of course) . From finding vendors, monthly status calls, attending meetings, working on design, and full weekend coordination. With that much communication over 8 months of planning, Sharon, Leo, her mom, Susan, and I became friends. I was no longer planning a “clients” wedding- I was planning my friends Sharon & Leo’s wedding. Katie said that was going to happen! 😉 On my “recap” call with MOB, Susan, a week after the wedding she told me  “whenever you get married – I hope you invite us!”. My eyes still water every time I think of that. This job is just not about creating memorable wedding days, its about creating lasting relationships with people who allow you to participate in a very special day of their lives.

Sharon & Leo say: We had the best experience with KOWE. From our first planning meeting to our wedding day, Katie and Casey provided the best vendor advice and the most meticulous attention to every detail. Casey was awesome running our very customized weekend at a private home. She was poised, in charge and let us enjoy this most amazing day without a moment of stress. We could not have done this without her and we are so grateful for her smile, her “sparkle” and her amazing skill. We are so happy we signed on for the full service planning and coordination from KOWE. Stellar service!

Check out the day below and for more images check out their photo gallery: http://www.coupleofdudes.com/sharonleo/

Sharon & Leo rented this gorgeous 1800’s farmhouse for the week. The interior was just as charming and stunning as the outside!

Our beautiful bride, Sharon!

Our groom, Leo and KOWE team member, Lauren. Pinning the boutonniere.

Sharon, just before saying “I Do!” the aisle with SeCo, Casey.

Sara with Floral Fantasies, did a magical job decorating their ceremony arbor. The couple also brought colorful ornaments to decorate the large arbor.

Shout out to Sara from Floral Fantasies again. A day before the wedding the mother of the bride wanted to have something for guests to “throw” as the couple walk down the aisle as “Mr & Mrs”. Sara said “Of course! We will create cones and provide petals!”  Team KOWE assembled them on the day – and everyone was happy. (Reason #54,289 to hire a coordinator)

I love this image of Sharon and her parents walking down the aisle – so excited and full of love.

You may now “kiss the bride!”

Martin Dodge Designs, Floral Fantasies and Cantele Tents really blew it out of the water. The tent was stunning.

Mazzone Catering is amazing. They custom built this grill to replicate a traditional Uruguayan grill to create the couples’s wedding menu.

The aroma and “live action” cooking was a show during cocktail hour for guests.

It was all love and constant dancing all night long…

Thank you for sharing your day with us!

Hayloft on the Arch Wedding: Nicole and Sam
hayloft-on-the-arch-wedding-50

Barn weddings can be a challenge… whether you need to bring in all of your own rentals, there is no power source, or it’s so “rustic” that the cows just vacated the barn yesterday (there is only so much fresh flowers can cover up). Hayloft on the Arch in Vernon Center, NY is in it’s very own category for a “barn” wedding. The owner and event manager, Alisha knew what she was doing when she and her husband renovated the barn to accommodate weddings. There is a bridal suite, built in bar, catering space, really awesome bathrooms (when do you ever rave about the restrooms?), and overall just beautifully decorated. If you are looking for a barn space for your wedding – you need to check this place out.  It is officically a favorite #kowevenuepick!

Nicole and Sam came into our office for their initial consult and we just clicked. Nicole is a teacher and Sam is a designer who moonlights in a band (just the beginning of their awesomeness). Their planning process was so fun – tastings with Patrick at A Moveable Feast, floral appointments with Coriale, and site visits with Alisha out in the middle of NY. They were always full of laughs and bags of chicken (sorry inside joke). So of course their wedding day was just as fun!

Katie O’ says:  I feel truly blessed and lucky to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing couples each season.  Nicole & Sam were no exception.  They were both so awesome when we met for our initial consultation and totally in love.  They are the perfect balance for one another and I knew from the start that they were a #kowecouple.  Thank you both for sharing the planning and coordination of your special day with me.  I am honored to now call you both friends and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you (in Beantown-“Go Red Sox!”) as Mr. & Mrs! xoxo

Nicole and Sam say: “There are just not enough words to express the love that we have for Katie and her team! They are simply the best! Not only are they some of the most SPARKLY people you will ever meet, they genuinely love what they do and it showed throughout the almost 2 years that we worked with them. Katie and Casey truly took the time to know us as a couple. I truly believe that the time invested by Katie and Casey to get to know us is the reason why our wedding was such a success. From the vendor selection to events of the day-we were overjoyed with our “team” and how they all worked together to make our wedding day so special. We said it from the first week of working with Katie and Casey and we’re still saying it a month after the wedding-having Katie O Wedding and Events as part of our day was the best decision we made throughout our wedding planning. We just love them!”

Nicole had hair and makeup done at the hotel but got dressed at Hayloft – how stunning is this shot of Nicole?  We LOVED the back of her dress from Angela’s Bridal.

Adirondack Wedding at Wintergreen Lake: Blerta & Zach
upstate-ny-lake-wedding-15

When you need to use GPS coordinates to find the ceremony location, the weather forecast is 100% unpredictable, and there is no cellphone service anywhere it is very helpful to have a coordinator! When we first began planning with Blerta and Zach back in December 2015, we knew that this wedding was going to have some challenges but of course, with challenge comes opportunity. Opportunity to become better planners, coordinators, and build stronger relationships with our couples. This is exactly what happened on September 10th, 2016.

Blerta and Zach were married at their families camp in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains on Wintergreen Lake. The morning started off with some rain- but mother nature was just getting it out of the way so the rest of the day could be sunny and perfect for the ceremony & celebration! The couple exchanged vows in front of the lake surrounded by all of their friends and family. Cocktail hour was also held lakeside as guests watched the happy couple hop in a row boat for photos on the lake.  Guests then moved under a breathtaking sail cloth tent for an incredible family style dinner (We are still raving about how delicious dinner was from the talented Mazzone Hospitality). Dancing, fireworks, and a sweet doughnut exit made this wedding unforgettable. Thank you B&Z for keeping us laughing the entire way – xo #teamKOWE

Katie O’ says: When Blerta & Zach reached out to us I was excited for the opportunity to help them plan and coordinate a very special celebration at such a magical and meaningful location for their family.  It is always a challenge to “build a venue” from the ground up on a piece of land that is not typically used for weddings.  The team we assembled including Mazzone Hospitality and Rain or Shine Rental Company truly helped to make this a seamless and fun process.  Having a planner to help make a tented wedding go flawlessly is so important and we loved being able to bring the sparkle to Wintergreen Lake for Blerta & Zach.

#KOWEbride, Blerta says: I can’t imagine how my wedding would have turned out without KOWE. They were indispensable every step of the way. They made things as seamless as possible and really listened to what I wanted — they’re pros at what they do. Bottom line: I felt extremely taken care of and think they were worth every penny. I also want to note that Katie and her team did so much more than the traditional wedding planning and coordinating tasks of managing the schedule/vendors/making sure everything runs smoothly (and they performed those tasks to a T). As soon as Katie stepped foot in the room on my wedding day, it felt like everything was going to turn out exactly right. She’s the type of person who can make you feel like everything will be great, even when it’s pouring the morning of your outdoor wedding. She calmed me down when I felt frazzled and made sure my train and veil and every little thing was perfect, among the thousands of other wedding coordinating things she did that day that I am not even aware of. Most importantly, I felt like she was my friend, and she was a joy to have around.

Andrew Franciosa was a dream to work with…. check out his full blog here.

Blerta & Zach got ready and had their first look at the family’s home.  We love having the couple do getting ready preparations at home, it is so intimate and personal.

That dress… You make a stunning couple.

Blerta shared an “inspiration” image with Fluertacious Designs of how she would like her bouquet. Then the Fleurts made it 10x better than anyone could have imagined.  It was one of the items Blerta made certain was saved and placed safely at the end of the night- she loved it so much!!
