As I approach my 7th year in business I find myself reflecting on how many clients, families and friends with whom we have shared the sparkle (over 250!) Every client is special and has helped me grow, learn and become a better planner. However there is one very important family who has made a huge impact on both my life and business.
I followed this path because I love building relationships, it is the reason I chose to become a wedding planner. After years of planning public events & fundraisers I knew I wanted more out of planning. As a wedding planner you are able to share in one of the most special days for a family and build meaningful life long friendships. And if you are lucky you get to share this 3 times for one family.
The Staples family is a true KOWE MVP. This is my “love letter” to them…
Back in 2009 my very first season in business I received an inquiry from Natalie Staples (now Guay). I remember our very first consultation at Starbucks in Stuyvesant Plaza and when I met her I immediately knew she was a #koweclient. She was warm, kind, dedicated to a faith filled ceremony, creating a fun party for her family and friends and into all the little details of a wedding. (She was like a walking Pinterest board-and this was before it even existed!)
Thankfully, Natalie hired me to help her and Ryan plan and coordinate their big day on June 26, 2010. I believe the only one who really needed convincing was her father Steve. I believe he said “WHAT a wedding planner!? Why would you need that?” It took him awhile to get on board but now I am pretty sure he is one our biggest cheerleaders and lets anyone know who will listen that “KOWE was the best investment on the day!”
On 6/7/13 I was invited to be part of Tim & Erin’s celebration at the Glen Island Harbor Club. It was another gorgeous day that even the heaviest of rains couldn’t bring us down.
Finally on October 15, 2016 we completed the wedding trifecta of this fantastic family as we celebrated Becky & Carmine. It was the perfect end to almost 7 years of time spent with this family. It was another meaningful faith filled ceremony, a crazy fun party with lots of “sit ins” with the band and a night that you felt loved, appreciated and part of the family.
Thank you all for setting the bar very high back in 2010 and reminding me to surround myself with clients just like you forever.
One other constant that each wedding had was my dear friend and amazing photographer JP Elario. All images in this post are from his camera and shot with love too. I am confident that this image below is one of my all-time favorites he has captured on a wedding day.
I am grateful for so much in the crazy life and having the best of friends to work with, the most amazing clients to share life with well beyond their wedding day certainly makes this journey a blessed one.
All the best & sparkle,
