Hi there, faithful blog readers! As you can imagine, we are in full swing of things here at KOWE headquarters in downtown Troy! September is pretty hectic, but October is all sorts of crazy! But I wanted to take some time to talk to you about a really different venue in the region…Basilica Hudson.
Basilica Hudson is a former 19th century factory that has been adaptively resued as an art, performance, community, and event space in Hudson, NY–just 30 minutes south of Albany. What I love about this space is how raw and industrial it is–there is really nothing like it in and around the Capital Region. Given the vast space, it's also a blank canvas that can be interpretted in hundreds of ways.

In addition, this venue is in Hudson which makes it automatically cool and chic (according to the New York Times, at least). Believe it or not, there is a lot to do and see in this small Hudson Valley city! Warren Street is the main drag in town and is very walkable. You'll find antique stores, restaurants, unique home stores, and art galleries. Or, if you want open space and hiking trails, travel 10 minutes south to Olana State Historic Site and check out the home of famed Hudson River School painter, Frederic Edwin Church. For all our NYC readers- this also makes for an easy trip for city based friends and family as the Basilica is located across the street from the Hudson Amtrak stop!
It's an ideal spot for a “destination” wedding. So who wants to be the first KOWE Basilica Hudson couple?!
What drew you to your wedding venue? Let me know in the comments!
