It's post time…and party time! Anyone who lives in the Capital Region knows that tag line, right? Once June rolls around the commercials for Saratoga Race Course begin and there's a change in the air as everyone gets excited for the summer place to be!
But those of us in the wedding business spend a lot of time in Saratoga year round. It's an immensely popular wedding destination for a variety of reasons. You've seen the Hall of Springs, part of Saratoga Spa State Park, and the Mansion Inn of Saratoga featured here on the Katie O' blog, the Canfield Casino, Saratoga National, and the Saratoga Polo Grounds are also super popular. Today we're going to highlight a few quintessential Saratoga weddings (and an engagement shoot) as the 150th racing season is now underway!
And we're off (sorry, I couldn't help myself)!
This image from Biz and Micah's Fasig-Tipton wedding (which was also featured in the spring 2013 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings) is classic Saratoga! Note the name above the stable, too. Awesome.
And how about the cufflinks that Micah wore? So fitting!
And to top it all off, Sam the Bugler was there to usher guests into dinner.
I love, love, love this image from Melissa and Andrew's engagement shoot at the track (remember, you should probably have an e-shoot) by our friends from Elario Photography.
These next few photos by Niki Rossi Photography are from Carolyn and Joshua's 2013 Saratoga Polo Grounds wedding. Their wedding was classic and elegant. Kris Ann Elario and her team from Fleurtacious Designs did an incredible job with the flowers and decor. I love the yellow!
Last, Terri and Matt hit up the Saratoga Race Course for some photos before heading to Saratoga National for their wedding reception. What an awesome image of the entire bridal party with the grandstand in the background!
And to put you further in the Saratoga spirit, be sure to check out Joe Elario's (aka “Big Joe”) blog post on the historic race course–his perspective is so unique and he truly captures the essence of this special American place in his photographs. Kudos, Big Joe!
Would you consider a Saratoga wedding? If so, where which venue do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!
Keep sparkling-
