Welcome to “Wedding Wednesday!” Each week we will highlight a different Katie O' wedding showcasing some of our favorite memories and photos from the day. We are excited to kick-off this series with images from the wedding recently featured in Martha Stewart Weddings.
Biz and Micah were one of those super cool, relaxed and happy couples. They weren't looking for the most traditional wedding day and they certainly created a day the was, unique, meaningful and just about them! These images below were taken by Matt Gillis Photography and I promise you it was hard to narrow it down for this blog–I love all of them! I want to share some of the more personal and meaningful photos captured of the day that truly represent what this celebration was all about.
Micah and the guys got ready in a rental house not far from Fasig-Tipton and Biz and the girls got “fabulous” at her family's home by the Make Me Fabulous team.
The family kicked off the morning with a toast and a lot of prayers for no rain on this perfectly planned outdoor ceremony…
Even though we were trying to keep spirits high we were also up against extremely unpredictable weather. Biz's Dad put a call into a friend with a high powered radar to check and see if the 30 minute window we needed for the ceremony was going to be clear. We took a gamble and made decision to hold the ceremony outside. I call this image the “situation room,” as we were constantly checking the forecast.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Biz was putting the finishing touches on her bridal look….she was stunning….
Since the venues were all so close we were able to manage transportation so that the trolley could pick up Biz last and get her to Fasig-Tipton at the perfect time. I was alongside Biz making sure gorgeous gown stayed perfect for the ceremony.
Biz was all smiles and ready to get married! We love using Horsin Around Trolley for Saratoga Springs weddings!
I am simply in love with this image of Micah's face as he sees Biz walking down the aisle with her father.
Biz and Micah had one of my favorite wedding ceremonies of all time and I have been sharing this fantastic idea with all my clients since I saw this! They asked asked three couples in various stages of matrimony—eight months, eight years, and 34 years—to speak at the service. It was personal, funny, engaging an so incredibly memorable for everyone at the ceremony.
Post ceremony we had Sam the Buglar on hand to “escort” the happy couple into a confetti filled cocktail hour
Dinner and dancing was held in the main pavillion at Fasig-Tipton
A fun interior shot of their reception space with farm tables and giant white balloons lining the way
We were so honored to share in this special day for this warm, loving and kind family. Thank you for having the KOWE team there to make sure it was a flawless affair. All the best for a liftime of laughter, love, family, friends and horse racing!
